For high performance air filter manufacturers who is using epoxy coated aluminum screens with longer roll length, such as 3000' rolls, the materials they are using is usually spliced 4 rolls into a 3000' rolls. More splices mean more frequent downtime during pleating process,as workers need to cut off the splices and then restart the pleater, which result in lower productivity.
On the other hand, if the length before and after the splice is not enough for a pleating pack, it will need to be cut off, thus causing more material losses.
